Australian College of Aromatherapy will refer all potential claims to the terms and conditions outlined in this document.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

In these terms and conditions, the expressions 'we', 'our', 'ACOA' or 'the College' refer at all times to the 'Australian College of Aromatherapy'. These terms and conditions, the use of the College website, and any order or purchase made using the facilities of the website shall be governed by the laws and courts of Queensland, Australia. No  other laws, whether interstate or international, shall apply.

1. ACCESS AND USE OF THIS WEBSITE

By accessing, browsing, or downloading any part of this website or its content, whether as a registered user or guest, you adhere to these terms and conditions (which form a contract between you and the College) and all relevant applicable laws. You are responsible for obtaining relevant equipment necessary for accessing and downloading from this site, and Australian College of Aromatherapy takes no responsibility and accepts no liability once downloading of any material has commenced. This includes, but is not limited to, failed downloads, lost or deleted downloads, and viruses or malware. The College recommends all users of the website, once they have downloaded material, to make a back-up copy of this material as the College will not issue any replacements.

2. COPYRIGHT

Australian College of Aromatherapy retains ownership (copyright) of all material on our website, including material that is downloaded for educational purposes, except for other materials appropriately credited. Courses, course notes, and other materials are not to be sold, loaned, copied, or used in any  way outside of the pursuit of studying the course by the enrolled student, unless permission is explicitly granted by the College Principal in writing.

3. ACCOUNTS

Once a user registers for an account, it is the sole responsibility of the user to maintain the confidentiality of his/her password, account name, ID, and other details. Any unauthorised use of the user's account, or other breach of security, should be reported to the College immediately. Australian College of Aromatherapy accepts no responsibility or liability for accounts used without authorisation of the registered user, or any consequences of this unauthorised use.

4. ORDERS, PRICING, AND PAYMENTS

The College endeavours to ensure that pricing information and product availability listed on its website and online store are accurate and current. In the unlikely event that prices or the availability of products changes for any reason, the College accepts no responsibility or liability for any damages or inconvenience caused. All pricing (unless otherwise stated) is in Australian dollars and is non-negotiable. The College reserves the right to alter product prices without notice. All prices listed on our website are inclusive of GST.

Where course material is unable to be downloaded immediately upon purchase, the material shall be emailed to the student directly, once payment has been received and processed by the College. Products ordered from the online store will be dispatched within 7 days of receipt of payment in full, provided the College is satisfied with the integrity of the order. In the case of additional delays (due to, for instance, a late delivery to the College from a supplier), the College will enter into correspondence with the customer, and an appropriate solution to the situation will be reached on an individual basis. Once an order has been posted, or otherwise dispatched, the College accepts no further responsibility or liability for orders delayed, damaged, or lost in transit. Furthermore, please ensure that the address you have listed as your delivery address on your order is correct, as the College will not accept responsibility or liability for any order/s delivered to an incorrect address (as listed by the customer), nor for any orders lost, stolen, or damaged after delivery. All orders are subject to confirmation of price, payment, and availability.

5. CANCELLATIONS

If you would like to cancel an order, please contact the College as soon as possible on 1300 13 14 72. Contractual agreement between the College and the student/customer comes into effect once the order has been confirmed and payment processed by the College. Orders that cannot be cancelled will be subject to our refund policy (see Section 6, below).

6. REFUNDS

The Refund Policy of the Australian College of Aromatherapy is at all times fair and equitable to students, customers, and clients.

Refunds are not permitted for any products returned to the College that are deemed to be used, damaged, corrupted, or otherwise no longer in saleable condition. The College does not accept returns of products which are no longer wanted by the student/customer due to a change of mind or any other reason, nor does the College offer a refund for such products. Please select the products you order carefully.

The student/customer may be able to return a product ordered from the Australian College of Aromatherapy online store if the product:

  • Was damaged or faulty on receipt of delivery to you AND the College is notified within 7 days of your receiving the damaged product;
  • Was found to be faulty within 14 days of receipt of delivery; or
  • Was not the product ordered, or did not reasonably match the description of the product listed on the College website.

If the product received meets one or more of the above criteria, the student/customer may return it to the College for a full refund (minus postage and handling costs). All refunds/returns must be discussed with the College and approved prior to return posting, and any products returned to the College without prior approval shall be deemed ineligible for a refund or exchange. Refunds will be processed within 14 days of the approval of the refund by the College Principal.

The student/customer accepts full responsibility and liability for the return of the product/s to the College, and as such, the College advises the student/customer to keep proof of return postage. If the product goes missing in transit to the College, and the customer is unable to provide a tracking number or other proof of postage, the order will not be deemed returnable. Additionally, it is the responsibility of the student/customer to ensure that the returned product is packaged appropriately in order to avoid damage during transit. Returned products damaged in transit are not refundable.

Regarding educational materials emailed or posted to the student, or downloaded from the College or its website, there will not be any refund permitted once the material has commenced downloading or has been emailed/sent. This is due to the fact that once material (either physical or digital) has been received by the customer, it cannot be 'returned' to the College.

By enrolling in a course with the College, you are agreeing to an enrolment contract, and are bound by that contract to complete payment for the chosen course in full. Should the College recall or otherwise cease to offer a particular course while you are presently enrolled in that particular course and actively studying, then a full or partial refund may be applicable. In all other circumstances, course purchases, including deposits and payment plan installments, are non-refundable. Post-graduate refunds will not be given under any circumstances.

7. EXCHANGE AND CREDITS

All exchanges and credits for products purchased from the College online store are strictly at the discretion of, and subject to approval by, the College Principal. Requests for exchanges or credits must be made in writing, and must clearly state the reasons for credit or exchange. If an application for an exchange or credit is approved, the customer may:

  • Request a replacement product, or alternatively exchange the product for a another product of equal or lesser value (minus postage and handling costs); or
  • Obtain an ACOA online store credit to the value of the purchased product (minus postage and handling costs).

Customers will be granted a six-month period during which they may utilise their exchange approval or store credit, beginning on the official date of approval by the College Principal. After six months has elapsed, the exchange approval or store credit will expire, and may no longer be applied. Use of credits is not permitted for discounted items, or and neither credits nor an exchange may be applied to items no longer in stock at the time of credit/exchange approval.

8. DEFERMENTS, EXTENSIONS, AND COMMUNICATION OBLIGATIONS

All requests for deferment or extension of allowable study period must be made in writing and addressed to the College Principal. Whether a deferment or extension is approved is at the sole discretion of the Principal. Fees for deferment and/or extension of study may apply. As a condition of enrolment, the student is required to maintain contact with the College on a monthly basis at a minimum (this may be achieved using any reasonable means of communication, such as telephone or email).
