Terms and Conditions

Please read this document carefully as it contains important information about the rights and expectations of both you as a student/customer, and the Australian College of Aromatherapy’ as your educational and product supplier.

Please be aware that once payment has been received for course material or online products and has been processed by the College, the student/customer agrees to the terms and conditions that bind the purchase. Please ensure that you have read and understood the terms and conditions before finalising any payment to the College. Australian College of Aromatherapy’ will refer all potential claims to the terms and conditions outlined in this document.

 

 Terms and Conditions

In these terms and conditions the expressions ‘we’, ‘our’ or ‘the College’ refer at all times to the Australian College of Aromatherapy’. These terms and conditions, the use of the College website and any order/purchase made through the facilities of this website shall be governed by the laws and courts of Queensland, Australia.  No other laws, whether interstate or international, shall apply.

 1. Access and Use of this Website

By accessing, browsing or downloading any part of this website or its content, whether as a registered user or an unregistered user, you agree to adhere to these terms and conditions (which form a contract between you and the College) and all relevant applicable laws. You are responsible for obtaining relevant equipment necessary to accessing and downloading from this site, and Australian College of Aromatherapy’ takes no responsibility or liability once downloading of any material has commenced, this includes failed downloads, lost or deleted downloads or viruses. The College recommends all users of the website, once they have downloaded material, to make a back-up copy of this material as the College will not issue any replacements.

 2. Copyright

Australian College of Aromatherapy’ retains ownership (copyright) of all materials on our website, including material that is downloaded for educational purposes, except for other materials appropriated credited. Courses, course notes and materials are not to be sold, loaned, copied or used in any way outside of the pursuit of studying the course by the enrolled student, unless permission is sought and granted by the College Principal in writing.

 3. Accounts

Once a user registers for an account it is the user’s sole responsibility to maintain the confidentiality of his or her password, account name, ID and other details. Any unauthorised use of the user’s account, or other breach of security, should be reported to the College immediately. Australian College of Aromatherapy’ takes no responsibility or liability for accounts used without authorisation of the user, or any consequences of this unauthorised use.

 4. Orders, Pricing and Payments

The College takes pride in its efforts to ensure pricing information and product availability listed in its online shop is current. If, in the unlikely event that prices or availability of products change, then the College accepts no responsibility or liability for any damage or inconvenience caused. All pricing (unless otherwise stated) is in Australian dollars and is non-negotiable. The College reserves the right to change product prices without notice, and all prices listed in its online shop are inclusive of the GST, currently at 10%.

Downloadable course material can be downloaded immediately (or emailed to the student) once payment has been received and processed by the College; product orders from the online shop will be dispatched within 7 days of payment being received in full and the College is satisfied with the integrity of the order. Once an order is dispatched, the College takes no further responsibility or liability for orders lost in transit to the postal address listed by the customer at time of order. Please ensure that the address you have listed on your order is correct, as the College will not take responsibility or liability for orders delivered to an incorrect address listed by the customer, nor for any orders lost, stolen or damaged after delivery. All orders are subject to confirmation of price, payment and availability.

 5. Cancellations

If you would like to cancel an order the student/customer must contact the College immediately on 1300 13 14 72. Agreement between the College and the student/customer comes into effect once the order has been confirmed and payment processed by the College. Orders that cannot be cancelled will be subject to our refund policy (see below).

 6. Refunds

The refund policy of Australian College of Aromatherapy’ is at all times fair and equitable to students, customers and clients.

Refunds are not permitted for any products returned to the College that are found to have been damaged or corrupted and thus deemed by the College as no longer sellable. The College does not accept the returns of products which are no longer wanted by the student/customer due to a change of mind or any other reason, nor does the College offer a refund for these products. Please order your products carefully!

The student/customer may be able to return a product from the College online store if the product is:

  • damaged or faulty on receipt of delivery to you, and the College is notified within 7 days of your receiving the damaged product;
  • was found to be faulty within 14 days of receipt;
  • was not the product that had been ordered.

If the product meets any one of the above, then the student/customer can then return it to the College for a full refund (minus the postage and handling costs). This will take 14 days once the college Principal has approved the refund.

The student/customer takes full responsibility and liability for the return of the product to the College, and as such, the College advises the student/customer to keep proof of return because if the product goes missing in transit to the College, then we will deem the order as not returned. It is also the responsibility and liability of the student/customer to ensure the returned product has been packaged appropriately and will not get damaged during the transit. Damaged products are not refundable.

In regards to educational materials emailed or downloaded from the College or its website, there will not be any refund permitted once the material has commenced downloading or has been emailed to the student/customer. This is because once material has been downloaded or emailed, it cannot be “returned” to the College.

 7. Exchange and Credits

All exchanges and credits for products purchased from the College online shop are subject to approval by the College Principal. Requests for exchanges or credits must be made in writing, and the reasons clearly outlined. Whether an exchange or credit is approved is strictly at the discretion of the College Principal. If an exchange or credit is approved the customer is able to:

    • exchange the product for another of equal or lesser value (minus postage and handling);

or

  • obtain a College online store credit of the value of the product (minus postage and handling)

Customers are given six months to take advantage of their exchange or credit approval from the official date of the College approval; once the sixth months lapse, then the exchange or credit approval expires. Credits are not permitted for discounted items or items no longer in stock at time of credit request.

 8. Deferments and Extensions

All requests for deferment or extension in regards to study must be made in writing to the College Principal. Whether a deferment or extension is approved is at the discretion of the Principal. Fees for deferment and extensions do apply.

 9. Disclaimer

Though Australian College of Aromatherapy’ makes every reasonable effort to ensure that its downloadable content is secure and safe, the College shall not be liable or responsible for any loss, deletion, removal or failure of delivery to the intended student/customer using downloadable course modules, whether caused by a computer virus, unauthorised access or otherwise.

In relation to study, every attempt is made by the College to ensure that information is accurate and that the student has attained the knowledge taught in a module or course at their point of their assessment. Beyond this point, the graduate is responsible to maintain their acquired competencies and apply acquired knowledge and skills in a way which is appropriate to the unique characteristics of each application. This releases the College and its staff from any liability, action and claims of whatever nature, whether directions given during the course are followed or not.

Australian College of Aromatherapy’ reserves the right not to provide any products or educational services, terminate member accounts, remove or cancel orders at its sole discretion at any time. The College will not be held responsible or liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by exercising this right.
